    Cobwebs

    COBWEBS

Dust on the mirror, clouding up your sight

you just spent another crazy Friday night

morning calls to early, coffee brews too slow

don't tell me where you've been I already know

cause I can see by the look that's on your face

you're sick and tired of running this rat race

Don't try and tell me that you're fine

cause I can see the cobwebs in your mind

Living in this world, rich men make the rules

believing that the rest of us are only fools

We've got to make a statement, let the people know

the worlds driving on a dead end street with nowhere left to go

and I swear these times have got to change

The fault line we're living on cannot just be rearranged

each of us has got to take the time

to sweep out all the cobwebs in your mind

All of those salt talks poured on open wounds

the politicians can't agree cause they don't know what they're doing

wasting all our money on nuclear power and bombs

when nature gives us all the energy we could ever want

Caught up in daily pressures trying to survive

all we really want to do is to stay alive

specks of dust in the universe is all we really are

got to change our point of view to reach the morning star

ANCESTRAL LINE

Are we really just hairless apes

or did we fall out of the sky

Where did we come from back when we were born

Where will we go when we die - Oh my

Religious thought around the world

saying we are children of a God

scientists they disagree

How the humans have evolved - have evolved

Let's travel back into the past

to the beginning of mankind

Identify the single seed

the start of our ancestral line - ancestral line

Now with the answers in our mind

we will return to our own time

bring the knowledge to the universe

how the humans were designed -we were designed

I NEED A CHANGE

Oh my love, my nerves have grown so thin recently

and I know that I don't want to be

feeling low think I'll spend a day or two alone

Let them go, pressures weighing heavily on me

and I know that I don't want to be

feeling low think I'll take a walk out in the rain

I need a change

The wind is blowing hard outside,

my window is battered by the rain

I realize the way I make my living

sometimes gets too strange

I need a change

See a show, maybe out for dinner we should go

Candlelight, we could talk all night

Oh my love, you could make the pressures disappear

But still the end, and the craziness of work begins again

I must find, a way to bring an end

to feeling low, it's getting to the point some call insane

I need a change

I don't know, just how I might come to find release

but it's so, I've got to have some peace

from feeling low, I just want to find a better way

I need a change

POOL OF LIFE

Laying in the weeds biding my time

playing undercover

awaiting the sign

holding on to the moments that I've come to find

I've come to find

Traveling a highway winding along

knowing that I'm going to where I belong

destination calling and it won't be too long

It won't be long

Guided by an inner vision

keeping all my faith alive

world like the mother ocean

into this pool I dive

into this pool of life

Counting on the draw to fill out this straight

maybe get the cowboy before it's too late

raise to the limit I can't hesitate

I can't wait

Putting all the pieces of this puzzle in place

angel on my shoulder setting the pace

finding my comfort in your smiling face

your smiling face

Only an instant before we begin

attempting to capture the magic within

I've got a feeling that we're gonna win

in the end

All of the answers to the questions at hand

are flying in moonlight awaiting to land

here on my shoulder then I'll understand

I'll understand

THE CHOICE

A hundred million years ago dinosaurs walked the Earth

until a catastrophic change turned them all to dirt

The same thing can happen to you and I today

if we do not change our evil ways

Atomic powers are marking us like a tombstone on a grave

The planet that we live upon has everything we need

mountains and the oceans and the prairies in between

Creatures of the jungle living sheltered lives

they'd fade away immediately in a nuclear sky

Who will take the stand and make the choice to stay alive

chorus

Who's gonna make the choice - will it be you or I

Who's gonna make the choice - If the Human Race will survive

Who's gonna make the choice - The president on high

Who's gonna make the choice - If we live or die                  I'll choose life

Events around the world today shape our destiny

the path that we are traveling on will never set us free

The blue that fills the sky above and the trees that gently sway

every living creature might simply fade away

Procrastination will not help we have got to make the choice today

chorus

Who's gonna make the choice     -     The gambler on a roll

Maybe the remote control    -     The angels up on high

if we live or die   -   I'll choose life

A hundred million years from now if aliens ever dare

they'll walk this land with space suits on cause they cannot breathe the air

They'll probably say "look at this mess what the Hell happened here"

"How could the Humans have destroyed themselves in a couple thousand years"

Thinking their technology would save themselves from fear

chorus

Who's gonna make the choice    -    The dinosaurs of old

Those guys with all the gold     -      Aliens in the sky      -

If we live or die    -     I'll choose life

THE TREND

I have no intention to try and make you me

and it is my suspicion that you really don't want to see

the things that hold you back

the needle in the stack

that keeps you off the track of being free

Hey man I can see the trend

you're driving down the same old street again

Times are tough I understand but that's not my concern

You just seem too comfortable watching your life burn

Like summer fields afire

die before the wire

you're living in a castle made of sand

Hey man I can see the trend

you're driving down the same old street again

Every minute is a choice and I can't choose for you

I can't change the evening sky from red and back to blue

The rains don't fall from me

I'm just another man you see

and I can't play the hand of cards you drew

Hey man I can see the trend

you're driving down the same old street again

Lyrics

NEED YOU TONIGHT

Photo album laying out

and the memories flash

thinking back on the good times

we had in the past

Song on the radio

reminds me of you

just can't stand it anymore

baby I'm feeling blue

Babe I'm on the way I'm heading for you

Need your lovin right away to help me get through

Babe I'm on the way I'm heading for you

I don't care what's wrong or right

all I know is I need your love tonight

Need you tonight

I've seen the glimmer in the eye

of the guy on the street

and he better think twice about

stepping on my beat

cause you know that I love you

and I'll do what I can

to maintain my position

as your lovin man

Take your dress from the laundry

hang it inside

one touch of the fabric

and my mind's running wild

Two weeks out on the road

have taken their toll

just can't stand it anymore

baby I'm out the door

Lyrics

HUMAN LIVES

Thick gray clouds pass across the face of the sun

patches of light, sparkling drops of rain upon the lawn

another day of dying and yet of being born

constantly arranging the life that I have known

A message from across the world arriving just today

sitting in the letter box on a wall just outside the door

scraps of paper saved until this form will dissipate

into a place we can only hope will hold much more

Given life we live

given choice we will decide

given all the outer dangers

we can always make the choice to hide

Human lives inside human lives

Exhausted fumes, passing gas, spreading in the atmosphere

even though we're being born it seems we're dying here

constantly avoiding all the things we've grown to fear

all our actions just denying reigns to those who know to steer

Given love we give

given questions we reply

given all the ancients tears

we can surely find the love inside

Human lives inside human lives

Leaves will fall and grow again, winter change to spring

feelings grow inside of me like flowers from the rain

a distant knowledge passes by so unforseen by me

I know a part of human lives, lives inside this tree

Lyrics

TAKE ME WITH YOU

I swear that tiny light in space is moving

It must be what they call a U.F.O.

Down here on the ground they're using radar

to see if it is someone that they know

It moved away so quickly that I lost it

behind that cirrus cloud right over there

I bet they know exactly what I'm thinking

that I would like to meet with them somewhere

Hey you fellow creatures out in space

won't you come to earth and straighten out the human race

consider me a confidante and friend

I just want to meet you face to face

Take me with you I won't get in the way

take me with you take me now today

take me with you I volunteer as a guinea pig

if you will bring me back to Earth someday

I sit and watch the sky most every evening

waiting for the aliens return

knowing that they'll take me far away from here

someday when I finally get my turn

The government predicts an epidemic

of fear that will spread across this land

It's only cause their minds are closed to innocence

there's simply no room left to understand

Lyrics

WATCHING THE SUN FADE

I must say it's been a long day

sitting here watching the sun fade

Time's are rough people grow tough

but my life is one that I just wouldn't trade

I'm looking back now, wondering just how

I grew to be who I am

I've seen the changes, turning pages

back to where we began

Let's take a ride, side by side

we'll buy us a bicycle that's only built for two

head out of town, cruise around in the countryside

where the spring is all in bloom

Living right now, thinking just how

the love between us has grown

We've been together through the stormiest weather

soon the harvest will show

I have been a fool I know but there's things

I didn't understand before I met you

The years were hard to discard but I wanted you

inside my heart and I let you

The past behind me, you can find me

anytime that you try

If we let go more and try to show more

we can surely learn how to fly - high

I must say it's been a long day

sitting here watching the sun fade

w a part of human lives, lives inside this tree
